What?	When?	Details
S1/2 Rotary Design Competition sponsored by Largs Rotary Club	October - January	This event is run on a rotational basis between the Art & Design, Design & Technology and Home Economics Departments
S1 Enterprise Group	Ongoing	As a follow on to their P7 induction a group of S1 pupils will form a small company to carry on a project started during one of the induction days. This year the group are in the process of producing a DVD/Video of their first year at Largs Academy. This DVD/Video is scheduled to be distributed at the P7 Parents Night in June
Speechmaking Competition	November	A solo event in which pupils make a speech to an invited audience of pupils, staff and Rotarians
Learn2Earn	February	A new modular programme for 2004/05 designed to help young students explore the concepts of success, independence and employment, and demonstrates the importance of education in preparing for the future. With the guidance of a Teacher and a Business Adviser, students learn about the relationship between education and personal goals and aspirations. They create budgets, learn to understand the cost of living on their own, and explore types of careers to match their lifestyle expectations
Up for Enterprise in Social Education	May	During the previous term S1 pupils created a Largs Academy Board Game for the incoming S1
