Departmental Aims
-
To provide, for every pupil, a mathematical education of the
highest quality.

To make continuity of provision and where possible to allow
pupils to progress.

To try to help pupils achieve their full potential and so optimize
their level of attainment.

To encourage pupils to be interested in mathematics and show
its relevence to their present and future experience.

To use, whenever possible, a style of whole class teaching
which is more interactive. Pupils should be encouraged to think,
to participate, be given opportunities to explain their reasoning
and be asked to demonstrate solutions.

To improve level of non-calculator skills.

To develop and use mental methods.
- To provide an environment which is safe and controlled and
in which effective learning can take place.
