INSPECTION OF LARGS ACADEMY

To all parents and carers,

I am delighted to direct you to the letter prepared by HM Inspectors following the inspection of our school in January. This was released on 28 March 2017 and all pupils received a copy of the letter on that date. You can access the letter and inspection evidence (questionnaires) on the Education Scotland website at www.education.gov.scot. The full report, now known as the Summarised of Inspection Findings (SIF), was published on Tuesday 4 April 2017, and is also accessible from the Education Scotland website.

We received an extremely positive report and I wish to thank all pupils, parents and staff for their continued support as we strive to improve outcomes for all our young people.  Education Scotland is very clear in its aim to raise standards in Scottish schools through a more rigorous inspection process, and we are among the first group of schools to experience this new inspection model.

The recognition that our school ethos is based on strong values and mutual respect is something I am very proud of. The evidence of very positive relationships between staff and pupils,  the increased opportunities for all pupils to develop and achieve success, and the recognition of the huge effort by staff to meet the needs of pupils is commendable.

We continue to develop strong partnerships within and beyond the local community and appreciate the contribution of parents, agencies and other partners.

This is a very proud day for the school community.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Heather Burns
